RUSSIA/UKRAINE: Russian Defense Ministry: military biological projects in Ukraine are being implemented not only by the United States, but also by other NATO countries, such as Germany and Poland.
Germany launched its own biosecurity program in 2013 with the participation of 12 countries, including Ukraine, only from 2016 to 2019, military epidemiologists from the Bundeswehr Institute of Microbiology removed 3.5 thousand blood serum samples from citizens living in 25 regions of Ukraine, the Defense Ministry said.
According to the agency, the participation of the Polish Institute of Veterinary Medicine in research on the rabies virus in Ukraine was also confirmed, and these studies were carried out jointly with the American Battél Institute, one of the Pentagon’s key contractors.
In addition, Polish funding was confirmed for the Lviv Medical University, which includes a participant in US military biological projects – the Institute of Epidemiology and Hygiene, where since 2002 they have been retraining specialists with experience in working with dual-use materials, the ministry said.
