USA: George W. Bush called Iraq war ‘unjustified and brutal.’ He meant Ukraine.
…from the Washington Post
[ Editor’s Note: Georgie Boy is the gift that keeps on giving, with speaking flubs, but still not in Trump’s league, as his mouth is in full gear all the time. He’s a machine gun flubber who never runs out of ammunition, as he just invents it in his mind when needed.
It is slips like this that create opportunities, however slim, to wake the American public up on how they get hustled over and over on the ‘war game’. We just had a new confirmation about the US attempt to overthrow Venezuela, with the wannabe new rulers wanting the US military to come in, versus the commando presidential assassination plan, the one that flubbed.
Bush is only two years older than Gordon and I, an embarrassment to our generation, including the taxpayer money wasted to train him as a fighter pilot to snag one of those cushy National Guard slots.
He attempted a recovery of the speech goof by praising Zelensky, whom he called a “cool little guy” and “the Churchill of the 21st century,” two political grifters showing love at first sight.
The speech writers need to check their history notes on who is leading the pack on overthrowing countries and installing puppet regimes.
It sure as hell isn’t Putin, as he has two key focuses, Russia’s borders, and proxy terrorism, which is why he went into Syria, as Muslim jihadis were going there to get combat experience to then return to Russia and create terror cells.
I will let you guess what UN Security Council member country might have launched and supported that scheme as a destabilization tool on Russia.
When Putin was once asked by the press why he was in Syria, he responded that it was better to fight and kill the jihadis from Russia in Syria, as opposed to waiting for them to come home and train terror cells.
In closing, we are now in another war grifting chapter of American history, where we are using Ukraine as a proxy to absorb the casualties and destruction, as the US Pentagon has admitted the goal of weakening Russia via an attrition war… Jim W. Dean ]

But while the joke landed with some, many were quick to pounce on his verbal slip after nearly two decades of sharp criticism that Bush was unjustified in directing the United States’ 2003 invasion of Iraq, with some lobbing accusations that the 43rd president is a war criminal — the same label some have given Putin after his invasion of Ukraine this year, which has been widely criticized by the international community as illegal and inhumane.
“How many Americans were sent to die by him for a lie? Disgusting,” tweeted conservative media personality Tim Young.
At least 200,000 civilians died as a result of “direct war-related violence” during the U.S. invasion of Iraq, according to the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University, which noted that difficulties in measuring deaths accurately mean the toll was probably much higher.
