Bad prediction: Greta Thunberg deletes 2018 tweet about the world ending in 2023 due to climate change
“Climate change” activist Greta Thunberg has deleted a 2018 tweet of her warning that the world would end in 2023.
In June 2018, the Swedish activist tweeted that “a top climate scientist is warning that climate change will wipe out all of humanity unless we stop fossil fuels over the next five years.” Five years later, humanity is still around and no such “climate doomsday” scenario came to fruition. It even appears that stopping the use of fossil fuels – as suggested by the unnamed climate scientist – accelerated the collapse of humanity.
Thunberg quietly deleted the aforementioned tweet upon realizing that the predicted collapse did not occur. But this did not evade the eyes of various conservative commentators, including Human Events Senior Editor Jack Posobiec.
He asked Thunberg in a March 12 tweet, alongside a screenshot of the 2018 post: “Hi [Greta!] Why did you delete this?”
The Swedish activist is not the only one notorious for making predictions that fail to happen. Former Vice President Al Gore has made several claims that the world would end if it doesn’t adopt green energy, according to a January 2023 Fox News article.
“Gore said during a speech at the Copenhagen Climate Conference in 2009 that there was ‘a 75 percent chance that the entire north polar ice cap … could be completely ice-free within the next five to seven years.’ However, the Arctic ice cap hasn’t been eliminated at any point over the last decade,” the piece stated.
The former vice president during the Clinton administration also predicted in his 2006 documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” that the global sea level could rise by as much as 20 feet “in the near future.”
But data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration easily debunked the documentary’s predictions. It said that since 1880, the global sea level has risen between eight and nine inches and that between 1993 and 2021, the sea level has been rising by 3.8 inches. At this rate, it would take more than 1,100 years before the world’s sea level would reach 20 feet – as Gore claimed.
Thunberg hanging out with globalists
The Gateway Pundit‘s Margaret Flavin shined a light on Thunberg’s hypocrisy, writing that the 20-year-old activist hobnobs with the globalist elites while expressing her intent to “overthrow” the allegedly “oppressive” and “racist” capitalist system.
In January, Thunberg joined the 2023 meeting of the globalist World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland to denounce the same elites backing her “climate change” agenda. She accused them of “prioritizing self-greed, corporate greed and short-term economic profits above people and above planet.”
“Basically, the people who are mostly fueling the destruction of the planet; the people who are the very core of the climate crisis; the people who are investing in fossil fuels … are the [same] people that we seem to rely on solving our problems – where they have proven time and time again that they are not prioritizing,” Thunberg said.
“Right now, the changes that we need are not very likely to come from the inside. Rather, I believe they will come from the bottom up, so to speak. These people are going to go as far as they possibly can as long as they can get away with it. They will continue to invest in fossil fuels. They will continue to throw people under the bus for their own gain.”
Ironically, Thunberg was in the same room as the people she rebuked in her speech.
